V-twin to IL4/IL3?

IL4 will have more torque too.

I've got a rotax V-twin at the moment. I wouldn't say the has any more character than any of the IL4, v4 or parallel twins i've ridden. Most modern engine are devoid of character.

I have nothing against IL4's personally other than they are a bit characterless.

But if he's looking for inspiration when he goes for a ride, he stands more chance with a punchy V twin then ragging some I4.

Well the Rotax 60 degree engine in the RSV/Falco/Futura/Tuono etc.. is pretty smooth, and well balanced. I would argue that a ZX9R engine has more character.

I can't speak about Ducat's 90 degree engine, I've never ridden one.

The 1050 triple engine is nice, but has less character than the 955.

Personally i find that most modern bikes seem to be engineered to remove all character.
