anyone with this case notice if there hdds make a racket?

mine make a horrible grind noise when accessing, think its vibrating through the whole case.

any tips to stop this?

V2000+????

I found the racks in the 2100+ caused a lot of vibration and ended up decoupling all the drives by suspending them with bungee cord. Total pain in the rear to actually do for 8 HDDs but well worth the effort.

sorry for the late late reply, but i ment the v2000 yes :/

any other method i could use except bungee rope?

nuke it from orbit?

or more seriously so rubber grommets(sp)? i imagine you could pick them up quite cheaply, whether they would fit or not is another matter

One of my hard drives used to really make the side panels resonate on my pc101. I initially tried using bluetack around the edges of the side panel, and while this helped a bit, didn't completely stop it.

I've just managed to sort it out now by running a couple of strips of 10x4mm foam gasket along the inside of the side panels (in-line with the divider plate between the top and bottom sections). If you don't have any gasket, a few blobs of bluetack should do the same job.

This doesn't completely silence the seek noise, but it helps a lot.
