V40 not atarting

It was the battery. All changed and starting fine now.

But that's not the only issue, MIL came on, camshaft position sensor and now the car struggles to hold idle. Reset the light, will have to see how it goes.

Soon enough there's be nothing left to replace on it. :(

Just doesn't stop.

Drove it to my mates garage, fine all the way though feeling somewhat lethargic over 3500rpm.

Park up, switch it off and wait for him to arrive, then it won't start and it's back on 3 cylinders. He's going to look at it tomorrow, I'm starting to wonder if the timing belt is loose in which case I'll need to get it back to TGM.

Paid £1200 for it, total spent so far is around £1100. :(

At what point do you say enough is enough? I've got a few niggles with mine, but thats all they are, just niggles. That volvo is throwing crippling problem one after the other :(

I'm starting to think that. But then if I decide to get rid, I have to try and sell it and recoup as much money as possible, then I have to find another car and have the potential for more bills. I really hoped getting the HG fixed and the injector replaced would solve this.

Unfortunately, it's very difficult to recoup money on problmatic cars. In my years of motoring and car purchases I've made many mistakes. The Subaru, being reliable as anything (touch wood), only had one problem which is the decat. This has forced the engine light to be on. I missed this on initial purchase as I failed to check for it, and it did not show on the dash.

The Honda, don't even get me started. I got bent over with that, and I blame myself for going with heart over head.

You could spend more money on it and get lucky, but you never know if it'll throw another bill at you. I spent near enough near a £1k on the Honda in the 3 months I've owned it. I rather not risk it anymore and rather be sensible. It's actually made me be really careful with every purchase I make now.

It's sad that these things happen, however, you just don't ever know. My advice to you is see what's what, if it's worth it and you feel that you have the finances to fix it then fix it. If not, then let it go and get a small run around. I had one and by far it was the best fun car I owned.
