V600B New Build

I have the same when I run exhaust fans on my v1000+, the graphics card temperature shoots through the roof.

Just the V series, takes a while to get the cooling sorted. Glad youve cracked it now, had me worried that the G50 might have been the better case! :p

Weird i would have thought having 2 fans blowing into the case without anything pulling out would have made the problem worse, just goes to show. Glad you're getting a better result anyhow.

There are so many holes in the case that the air is forced out all over the place. It's practically the perfect positive pressure case.

Looking at the case, it does not seem to have anything that could cause otherwise, but do you think that dust will be the same as on a v1000?

Can not see any new ways for it to get into the case so it should be ok; worth asking. :)

Oh yeah i know there is plenty of places for the air to escape at the top near the back and at the front of the case etc.., i was just thinking that the lower cpu area would suffer from not having any air blowing on it or away from it even. But like i said it just goes to show, whatever works.

I don't know what CPU cooler you are using, but I'm using the Thermaltake Blue Orb with a bit cut off to get it to fit and a 120mm fan blowing downwards really does mix things up at board level.

I am significantly happier now - and it'll just get better when the 125cfm YS-Techs arrive.

I've just fitted a second Thermaltake Thunderblade to the patent holder in a pull : pull configuration and I cannot lay a piece of paper on the top of case, the air bleed is so strong. Temps have also dropped another 2-3 degrees all round.

I'm going to fit felt filters (try saying that after 2 litres of strong Slovakian "Kelt" beer) to each so I can't see any dust issues to be honest as everywhere else, air is leaving the case.

Ahh good, the low airflow had images in my mind of a very dusty case, makes me feel a bit better now.

Considering getting one if the S80 does not crop up by the end of the month.

Yeah - I would really recommend it now that I've got the cooling sorted. I've even started tidying up the cabling now - it'll never be 'properly' tidy though.

The only problem I have now is that I have to hand it over to it's real owner on Thursday :(

Think it would be a nice housing for a Dothan rig, seems ideally suited to that sort of PC.

So this seems to require a reasonably high CFM, still possible to make a silent PC if you chose the correct components though; just seems from what you have said that the CPU and its cooler coupled with the PSU are the major factors in the temperature.

Don't think this case would be suitable for a Phantom passive PSU, as I would guess the CPU would heat it up something rotten, they get hot enough as it is.

Depends how far you want to go I would imagine.

Would not get one for extreme overclocking, but mild messing it would be fine with.

If you added a water cooling system to it, then it would be fine.

When Koolance do there version it should be good.

Ok - for those who wanted to see it when it was tidied up;

With the Lian-Li steathed drive covers on

I finally got the Blue Orb in there (orbital grinder is my new best friend!) so it now runs properly cool. (50C CPU socket temp under load)

And it's a little bit tidier

That looks a lot less scary, now make it silver and I will be happy. :p

Can not see in the pictures, but I am asuming its the normal affair for the drive bay covers?
