v9999gt + 6800gt differences?

the asus card has 128mb of ddr1 memory. the memory on all other 6800gts is ddr3. the cores on both variants should be the same. :)

The stock speed of the card is 350mhz core, 350mhz memory.
I was able to get the gpu core up to 400mhz and the memory up to 800 mhz. Due to the fact that I just spent $500 tax in on this card, I felt that this would be a sufficient overclock for benchmarking.

taken from another website.. and another one said they overclocked to 1600mhz

thats loaddds

Memory of 1600mhz on a 6800? Rubbish :p

The normal 6800GT is better, the ASUS one is a crippled version. Doesn't it only have 12 pipes to compared the the GT's 16? (although they may be able to be unlocked)

If you mean the 6800GT/TD i have one and its a decent card. Runs at 350 core and 700 memory with 16 pipes and 6 pixel shaders? Never overclocked mine and its sat for 16 months with no bother in my PC so far.

I've just made the switch from one of these to a PCI-express system.

The lack of memory meant i had to have textures and geometery on medium in BF2, but could run everything else on high with 2xAA aswell.

They are good cards, and although they have less memory bandwith, they will still surpass an AGP 6800GS, because of their extra pipes.

My core overclocks to 400mhz, but my memory is 2.8ns stuff, and doesn't clock past 780ish. Some cards have quicker memory which can overclock up to 900+.

What CPU and how much RAM you running mate? I can only run most on low/medium at the minute so if you can run it that high i can only think its my CPU bottlenecking.

but how come normal 6800gts are 1000mhz and they are 800 mhz memory?

Most 6800GTs have faster DDR3 memory

This card only has DDR1 memory which runs at 350MHz (700MHz effective)

This card has the full 6800GT core - it's not a crippled version like the 6800GTO was

The only difference is that a standard 6800GT has 256MB of DDR3 memory at 1000MHz, this has 128MB of DDR1 memory at 700MHz

This meant that the card could be marketed at a much lower price than a standard 6800GT, and not much more than a 6800nu making it a good buy

I had one of these v9999gt long time ago. Although it had half the ram of the original 6800gt. It clocked exceedingly well. 430+ core and 937 on ram iirc:)

as for performance (at stock) it probably goes like this:

6600GT, 6800NU, V9999GT, 6800GS, 6800GT
