We've got some rib eye steaks from the farm shop, just going to do then with some roasted veg. More special that normal dinner, but still diet-friendly.
Go in for the M&S deal becasue we have loads of vouchers...then she forgets the vouchers! Coquilles St Jaques followed by Beef Wellington with Pea & Bean layer and finally Posh Profiteroles. All washed down with a nice Merlot and some chocolates which we have already got stuck into
I've already started mine... sort of. I've done the apple jelly for this dish: http://www.greatbritishlife.co.uk/a...allops-with-celeriac-and-truffle-puree-29833/
Scallops with apple jelly, apple caramel and celeriac puree. Hopefully I'll pick up some nice fresh scallops thursday night, or that would be a ball.
Got some nice steaks as well. Going to do them with potato dauphinoise and something I'll figure out later.
Also made some different ganaches for some truffles. Got a chocolate and strawberry (using strawerry sugar, it tastes just like a roses strawberry cream), chocolate and pastasio, and chocolate and fig. I'll cover them tomorrow night!
Truly disappointing. Luckily I have enough to make another batch so it's to the oven in the morning, going to try freezing the dough this time rather than just sticking it outside for 5 min to cool down after cutting. Any tips? Not too keen on changing the ratios as the dough is delicious, I just want to stop the spreading. Perhaps smaller cutter too so they bake more evenly
I was going to cook a full on meal, but with a busy weekend of packing the house up to move on Monday I can't be arsed with the hassle knowing how much of a mess I make in the kitchen
So I'm going to give the M&S £20 deal a good which looks quite nice.
