I've finally decided it's time to get rid of my pride and joy, my Rover 200 deserves a new home now :( I just feel after a year and a halfs service I need something a little different - well, I'm in the process of looking for CTR's.

The Rover's been an ideal first car for me though, and unlike people most people's it's never really let me down. I'm seriously going to miss driving it :(

Anyway, what I need you guys to do is give me a rough estimate of how much its worth. This is really tricky for me, as I don't really see it as being like most other Rovers on the road at the moment, like agw_01's Rover it's almost one of a kind. I've never seen a 200 look like mine, and I tend to think mine looks much nicer than any standard. This I suppose is where you guys come in, I need opinions as to whether it is worth more than a standard 200 for its age, and if so, how much could I ask?

Just some info on the car:

1999 T Reg
64,000 miles (4 owners)
1.4 16V K-series (belt changed 2,000 miles again - with reciept)
MOMO 15" alloy wheels
3 month old Goodyear Eagle F1's (all round)
Lowered slightly
colour coded wing mirrors, and rear spoiler
New Front spolier (different than standard)
I'll have it 12month MOT'ed + serviced
and 6mnth TAX
CD player

Some pictures so people can see what I mean:

according to parkers a 1.6 T reg one is worth £1000 from a dealer. I really can't see why yours would be worth any more than the standard one tbh?

Probably worth LESS than a standard one to be honest. A lot of people avoid modified cars due to the histories that they can be associated with (not saying yours was treated badly, but in general).

Id say return it to standard suspension and wheels if possible, it will appeal to a larger audience.

More likely to be less, you hardly ever recover the investment on mods.

Sounds like you payed a LOT over the odds tbh :(

Can get a lot better and newer cars for the money you paid. And as I said in my above post, it will most likely be worth less than a standard one.

hmmmm, I was tempted to do this, untill I realised I hadnt done the mod's - I bought it like that. (bought it off a 40 year old lady, receptionist at a local garge. They'd sold it to every single owner.)

I suspect you were had when you paid £2.7

Parkers are not the best valuations and you MIGHT get a bit more than 1K for it, but I doubt it. The new bumper, alloys and color coding are worth £0 on resale, in fact if I was looking at two cars one that had meen modified and one that was standard, I'd always go for the standard one.

Are these trade in prices or private sale prices?

How much could i ask if I did a direct trade in with a Honda CTR

My day has just got very depressing :(

Could be worse, in the two years I've had my car its lost approx 55% of its value (and mine had a high starting point) :(

You've lost 25% of its value each year.

I've lost errrrrrr, 66% of its value in one year.

Bloody Rovers... grrrrrrr

I don't know if you can blame the fact that you paid well over book price for a T plate rover on rover can you? If you'd of paid book price for it (which would have been what about £1200???? ) you'd have only of lost a coupe of hundred quid.
