Value of an WoW account, wow.

*love* :D

My mate sold his SWG account for £1000 - he was the first person on the EU servers to unlock the Jedi slot.

Ebay used to be the place to buy and sell accounts, but Blizzard got that shut down - you do see the odd account on there every now and again, but I doubt many auctions go through.

You're better off asking guildies about it than risk a ban on here - there are a handful of decent places to buy/sell, just make sure you get your money first before you hand over account details.

What was quite funny was our guild leader selling his full epic hunter, then the guy who bought it applied to our guild a week later and even had the cheek to say he hadn't bought it :)

I remember Legend of Mir 2, a game I used to play years ago, guy had the highest level character in game (no level caps) with awesome gear and sold it for 4 grand

hey i remember that, i used to play legend of mir to.

would easily be the best mmo if staff kept it upto date and running smoothly.

I sold my Rogue with BWL/AQ40 gear around September 2006 for £250, may have been able to get more but hey.

Managed to sell my Warlock with some Kara gear/crafted stuff for another £200.

Buying accounts is just stupid.

hmm not sure i would buy one if it was low price, all depends.

Not WoW but I once got offered £200 for a Bhaalgorn faction Battleship in EVE. THe guy upped his offer to £300 by the time he fiinished and got pretty pee'd off when I kept turning him down.

To those not familiar with EVE stuff, if you get blown up in your ship you lose it for good. £300 for something he could lose 5 mins later. Some people have more money than sense.

Honestly though buying and selling accounts is more hassle than it's worth. It's far too easy to reverse a paypal payment, and conversely, to claim an account back. Anyone with half a brain would keep copies of the CD key for the account, and full address/name/date of creation details if they sold their account, just incase the guy reversed payment. With those details, you could claim it back within hours.

Keep it between friends and family, or guild members you trust, if you insist. Otherwise it's far too easy to get burned.

The guy who b ought one of my old accounts emailed me saying Blizzard locked him out pending photographic evidence of the original account holders name on some identification.

I didn't wanna give that information to some stranger, wasn't gonna send a photo of my passport to the guy so ended up having the account back, never heard from the guy again either.

Anyway re-sold it later on. :D

No idea what he did to get locked out of it in the first place, I did however find an email about being suspended for racism in my old email account, so who knows what the **** did.

So my friend who once ran off to lincoln to meet the guild mistress has now decided to pack his second life in. Now these days it seems you can sell your second life for so called RL money !?

When i knew this i was thinking the value of an account will be somewhat pushing around 50 pounds...

How wrong was I.

He had just been advertising on msn and already he has had 2 offers around 200 Pounds !.. i am absolutely speachless!, you can buy a decent PC for that!

So how much will you pay for a decent account thats been played for over 3 years.

Char details to follow tomorrow evening- his gone to sleep now, however i remember one of his char name which was ******** on frostmane.

sadly there are some real geeks still around.

What a waste of life I don't know who is worse the guy wasting his life in WoW or the idiot that's buying it when it can easily be deleted (just post the character name and i'll contact blizzard myself might actually make the buyer see sense.
