valve adjustment

The cost was 3 hours labour @ £35 per hour to strip check and put back together.

All mine were within tolerances but had it needed any shims it would have been the cost of the shims and another hours labour on top.

That's a bargain I'm sure when I dropped my YBR into my local place it was £60ph labour!

Edit: Dropped him an email for a quote on fitting a new rear shock and changing my front springs, just had a reply roughly £120 including fork oil which doesn't seem to bad to be honest. Although I'm still considering having a crack at the rear myself it's just the stripping down the front end and messing with oil and seals I can't really be bothered with.

just got back from here, around £200 all in for valve clearance check and a reshim

he said ive never seen one with that many miles on it:eek::p,also said its good to hear some top end rattle it shows theres still some clearance left,he said its when they go quiet you need to worry as they tighten up as they wear down

@tom-e you don't have to change fork seals if your just changing springs/oil,its fairly easy to do with the right stand

I've got an Abba stand so it's not an issue getting them off, I might wait until I've got a week off and have a crack at it myself.

the main pain I had was setting the preload/rebound valve correctly so give me full adjustment,it screws on a rod inside the fork tube on mine
