Much better than having all these game CDs out all the time - they don't install themselves overnight after a format, wheras I can just tell Steam to download something for me and in the morning its there. SteamBackup is also a useful alternative, but not really necessary in these days of broadband

I'd pay a £1 for some of their 8bit stuff it was emulated correctly.

An interesting thought.

Sensible World Of Soccer is meant to be one of the first "L!ve Arcade" games on Vista, I wonder if this could be distributed on Steam?

I do hope STEAM keeps going; I think it has potential to be something really useful for the industry. They can publish titles for small developers and independents who would otherwise not get published, and potentially let people try things in gaming they otherwise could not due to the cost effective nature of the publishing format. Whether or not this will be the case in reality is another thing, but I hope it is.

although! having that said, im really starting to hate the friend thingy, as i have this french chik who i met at college on my friends thing, she plays css, but wont for the love of god shut up for 5 mins about bloody pop music and how xfactor comes before css!!!!! and the noise from the convo alert as well!!! kill me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! someone, please, no i beg you to, please tell me how to remove that STUPID sound so i can peacefully ignore the nut case please

Go the main Friends window, then view and then settings, There should be some check boxes for alerts under "Notifications and Sounds."
