Looks like there is a bug affecting lots of users that causes the pairing of the steam controller to always overwrite slot 1. Annoying if you want to use the steam controller on more than one device or puck. Seems to be related to a firmware update.

I ended up selling mine
Thought it was great and played through a few pc games that I’d missed over the years at better settings/performance than the steam deck could manage and didn’t touch the ps5 for two months but then fell back into the trap of tinkering with older games and mods/recomps which the deck manages anyway.
With a new job away from home It was a matter of having too many gadgets and not enough time to use them and the offer of what I paid for it was too good to refuse .
If it wasn’t for gta6 on the horizon and being back away I’d have maybe gotten rid of the ps5 and the steamdeck instead. Glad I tried it though and still think it’s a top piece of tech for someone like me who hasn’t had a powerful pc for 10+ years

So you can sell it to CEX for profit like the first one you got?
CEX offer a lot less than retail so no won’t be doing that.
I regret selling it for what I want from a PC it is perfect really so just seeing if anyone had one available they did not want.

Strange I suppose how things change. Built a couple of 9070 xt and 5080 pc”s since hated them and sold them within days too. I have a Switch 2 as well never use it tbh really don’t get on with it, It’s also my second unit after selling the first. My PS5 Pro is my third one. Kind of see a pattern here. lol

I thought I had a problem, I have all the consoles but hardly played them but I don't have 3 x PS5 Pros! I just have 1 PS5.
I only have one I sold them then re-bought.

That's what I mean...I only bought each one, once....buying the same one 3 times, insane.
Not really 1st one made a weird coil whine noise so sold it to cex. 2nd I gave to my Brother and 3rd I have and use regularly.
These look good and I like the whole idea and concept but I'm planning to build my own PC instead, just find it a more appealing/satisfying thing to do.
Hopefully won't sell it a few days after like @MOOGLEYS though
I’m always building PC’s have been for over 30 years. If I’m not building for someone I build a couple myself and sell them usually for a small loss but it keeps me busy. I always intend to keep one but never do I love building them hate using them.

Got notified about what I thought was my Steam Controller but it was the bloody cheapest Steam Machine instead, don't remember putting myself on that list. Rather get the 'new' Rog with that lovely OLED screen if it was a choice of one or the other.

I signed up for the Steam Machine 512GB/controller bundle and got the option to buy a few days later so stock must almost be sorted.
I'm very tempted to buy since it would finally let me play games on the TV. Although I have a decent PC and in the past I would always prefer to sit at a desk to play, since working from home it would just be nice to have the option to get away from the office and lay back on a sofa while casually playing something.
I've tried various solutions over the years like game streaming but could never get it working very well and space has always been limited to the point where it's not possible to really get anything bigger than the SM. So for me it's the SM or nothing.
It gets a lot of flak for it's performance but when you factor in it's size, noise level and power consumption I think it's ok, particularly if you play older games but I do worry how it holds up long term.
At £900 it's just a lot of money for a device to sit next the TV and each time I go to pull the trigger I think what else it could be spent on. I think in normal times with a couple hundred knocked off it would have been an instant buy for me.
