The whois detail for valve.software is protected with a privacy option. The DNS name server is also some cheapo arrangement.
They have done some good SEO getting thier domain as the top level site in Google but valve.software is a fake, it redirects to the official site when clicking various links.

As above, also I'd remove the link to the fake site as Kasperky on my computer flags it as unsafe preventing me from viewing the site (might be something dodgy going on there).

Why aren't people more sceptical about this stuff? Every few months a new fake comes along and people post it. Do some research first.

Could be that Valve are either trolling, or they are being sneaky setting up these teasers.
Of course though, it could also be the usual people fooling the usual people yet again with another fake teaser.

That would be amazing. No marketing, no pre-orders, no build-up, no hype. Just have it appear on the Steam storefront one day. People would lose their minds.
I think one day we suddenly wake up and HL3 is on the steam store.
after all this time I don't wanna know if your making one or when it comes just bring it, HL3 needs no introduction and I'd just be annoyed if they announced the game and then they wait 12 months.
hl2 leak was nice though since you could load a level then get some of your mates to join and experience the game coop style

When valve bring out the successor to the source engine, that'll be when any HL3 game will be confirmed and revealed. It wouldn't be just HL3 either as they now have 5 good IP's they can make a game from:
Half life
Counter strike
Left 4 dead
Day of defeat
Portal
Wouldn't surprise me if all of them were being made right now under a new engine.
