You do know that they've announced Source 2 right? And shown demos of if in their VR thingy.
 
i remember (vaguely) when Portal 2 was announced.

suddenly there was an update for Portal and you could walk round with the little radios pickup up morse code or something, the internet went mental for a week, people were finding images in text files etc, and the changed the scene right at the end of portal. It was epic.... anything is possible with Valve.

I still live in hope of HL3, though I'd need a new PC I suspect, BUT I'd wait for it to come out prior to purchase hahaha... I remember the half life 2 release date too...
 
Fake site, go to the main url and you get the message "maybe next year" and it redirects to Valves official site.

However, I'm very surprised that no one on these forums has brought up the leak/error that happened earlier this year with App 323900.
It was taken down literally within minutes of it appearing, and that wasn't a fake.
Searching for it gives you a different game now though, quickly covered up.

Surely the site was just bought out by valve, so the message unlikely to be false.

I think they've been waiting for VR to be implemented into the steam platform before doing anything with the sequel, Gabe did say that he needed something interesting to bring it back...so.
 
Well it also could be anyone trolling.

Original Source was a fantastic engine and it was a big deal when it was revealed along with the game so they are waiting for something juicy to go alongside it. We do have VR and Steam boxes along with Source 2 around the corner so now so could just see something.

After the whole stolen code shenanigans of HL2 and way Valve work they could just be going for the break the internet approach and release it straight onto Steam thus crashing every single internet server known to man :D

All wild speculation of course though.
 
I seriously feel that's it been far too long now for Half life 3 to ever live up to the hype and Valve know this. I cant imagine were ever going to see it.
