Valve working on linux possibly

But if you're using the hard drive why not just install it? Live CDs are great for trying it out before you install and fixing some problems with an OS but there's no real reason to use them for anything else, and quite a few reasons not to.

If someone can release a gaming focused distro and give me AAA titles along with support for the latest and greatest hardware then I'm in

Could this be the start of a valve console

This was mentioned previously but a sff wIth mid range hardware and a dEdicated OS would rock

We are a long way away from being able to game on Linux though, sadly.
Well i've been doing it for the past three years...
exactly what I was thinking
I've been gaming on linux since quake3 (1999)

Obviously not every game will run on linux but complaining about that is like complaining you can't play all your PS3 games on windows :(
Interesting :)

Will beleive it when I see it tho, as people said above, valve said about a native client years ago.

You can play some steam & source games on linux using wine (obv not as good as native) & the steam client also runs using wine.

This is looking hopeful tho :D native ftw
