Hey guys, got this game recently and was wondering if any fellow OCUKers have played it? Are there are any mods/texture replacement packs worth getting before I start?

Game: http://store.steampowered.com/app/2600/

It got very good reviews but it is fairly underrated/unheard of (thanks to the coinciding release of Half Life 2)

amazing game.

In my opinion, If you decide to install the community patch, you should play it though first with no changes (as the developers intended) then on your second play though use the additional content.

definitely, at least, patch it officially to 1.2 (which I think steam does by default) which minimises the bugs a lot.

Enjoy! Such an brilliant game. One of the few games I have completed numerous times with different characters, there isn't many games I can say that about.

Also, posting usual "there is one level that scared my socks off" quote that gets posted in every VTMB thread I read.

Stay away from any guides!!!

I'm jealous you get to play the game fresh.

Superb game. I always install it onto my systems, as I know I will eventually replay it...same as Deus ex.
( there, got the mention in, que rampant re- install of Deus ex...go go go! )

'That level'....how I loved 'that level'.

Just come off (well few weeks back now) a replay of DX so won't be reinstalling heh.

Never did complete the masquerade :| can't remember what it was but something was clunky about the game that eventually killed it for me, potentially a very awesome game though just needed to have been done a bit better.

A game mechanic or a bug? I recall it suffered from stuttering on certain GPUs. First time I played it the game would freeze every 5 seconds or so, still played it though as it was just so good. When I came back to it a few years later after reading about the community patches it was like a brand new game. The only thing I have yet to do is complete it as a Nosferatu.

The patches sorted out nearly all the issues.

Wasn't stuttering or crashing can't really remember now but it was possibly buggy gameplay features.

I have a pretty low tolerance of games that are fiddly or clunky to play - theres really no good reason for it.
