So I didn't see what happened but a witness did...and saw a bunch of asian guys in a BMW jump out of their car and start kicking the hell out of my side panels. No provocation, no beef, just **** in East London. First time this has happened to me and it sucks to be honest.

Reported to the police, unfortunately there were no cctv cameras and the witness didn't manage to get the numberplate which is a shame.

Fortunately, the panels are easily accessible from the inside so should fingers crossed should be able to get it sorted.

And here is the reason I'd never want to live in a city. They are all full of ******s.

Hope it doesn't cost you too much to put right!

Was it a recent purchase? possible previous owner had some enemies. Tho seen that kinda random mindless violence when living in London a fair bit, one of the reasons I wasn't unhappy to leave.

I don't mean to sound pessimistic but isn't that going to cost an absolute fortune to fix? I can see several areas where the paint is missing and there's dents along the natural creases of the bodywork. I know very little about this sort of thing so I could be completely wrong, but I can't see that being cheap at all :(

Best of luck getting that sorted. You wonder how anyone didn't manage to get the number plate of the offenders car...

Owned the car a year and it was purchased from up North, so doubt it was regarding enemies, just mindless ***** who probably took offense.

As for the damage, I know the swage lines have been hit but i've seen damage like that repaired before and paint isn't a problem as my father will spray it.

Car was parked on Upper North Street in Poplar, was visiting my gf who has just moved into a new development there.

I have a feeling it was racially provoked, I reckon they realised I was Indian because my surname is on the numberplate and the perps were of Pakistani/Bengali origin.

Speechless. And this happened for no reason whatsoever?. Unbelievable. Scum of the earth.

Take solace in the thought that karma usually has a way of coming around fairly quickly.

Maybe replace the plate with ones from a dealer rather than your name written under the number? - not that you should have to do such a thing mind you!

I've seen a similar incident more than once in London, come to think about it, both times an Indian looking chap was driving, on one occasion, he had his wife & kids with him.

Scum, whatever there motives.

It's a private number plate that spells my name, hopefully that wasn't the reason but who knows:(

You might have overtaken them or cut them up .. who knows.

Still, a damn shame people like that exist.

Things could always be worse my friend!

Oh right,I do hope that wasn't the reason!

Jealousy of the car perhaps? - to some people, a private plate is a snob item as such - one reason I decided to leave mine on my e38 when I sold it, I got more than a few snotty comments re: "posh ****, BMW with private number" etc....

And I'm not Indian!! :p :D

Don't try to apply logic to this; there isn't any and it will bug your happiness trying to work it out. It's happened and it sucks. Some people are just *****.

Happened to me not long ago. Fix it, move on, take some general precautions were possible next time, but don't change how you want to live.

Chin up.

I'd agree - I used to live a bit south of there on the other side of the river and would see that kind of random mindless stuff going on quite a bit especially around places like Lewisham. Some of them just have nothing better to do.

That area is predominately of a Pakistani/Bengali origin having worked in that area for many years. Its possible that it was racially motivated.
When i worked in that area i saw plenty of BMWs and Subaru cars being driven by locals.
could have potentially have been a jealousy attack, but i wouldnt of thought so.

Hopefully you get if fixed ASAP and begin to enjoy the car again.
