All you need to do is ask for a DLM reset.

I've done this twice with Sky myself via live chat, it took affect within 48 hours.

Chasing all possible speed

There are some short twisted JR11 cables you can buy to run from face plate to modem, these replace the 3 foot cheap JR11 cables the modem's normally come with. One of the broadband forums people were using and conclusion was they gave a minor speed improvements.

Another thing considered worth doing is connecting the modem via a mains AV filter. The theory here is there could be electric noise that could upset a modem, say a pulse from a washing machine motor, or interference from network over mains adapters.

If your chasing all possible speed and stability the things above are probably worth considering.

I asked for that but they said it required an engineer visit, they also said they reserve that for pro customers um!

I never use speed tests to give a speed reading and I always use the router stats & I have nice shielded RJ11 cable. I have not powerline network cables anymore, so my issue liesin the plate.

Yes shielded RJ11 cable is what i'm referring to, I have a short 0.5 meter cable myself. Hard to say what difference it's made, but can't harm.

I just bought the mk3 faceplate and an adsl nation highspeed vdsl cable will let you know if it makes any difference. I've captured a screenshot of my stats before I install.

Interestingly, I have a MK3 faceplate and so I ordered one for a friend (from eBay) as it works well on my line.

I installed the new one on my line first just to make sure it worked and it made the line constantly drop, so I got the eBay seller to send a new one. The new one didn't cause the connection to drop but it reduced the sync speed about 3-4Mb, because, from looking at my graphs, it stopped one of the downstream bands being used.

Stuck my original one back on and all is well so perhaps a faulty batch?

Well, seeing as someone bumped the thread anyway, over 8 months on and the line is still very stable at 80/20 (~81500/~25500 attainable this morning, down around 10k attainable from install)

The distance to the cab is actually around 550m so i am very happy with this. The cab is also full and unavailable now so crosstalk cant get any worse.

That said its starting to feel very dated already (:p) the next village one way have 1gbit FTTP, the village the other way have VM which is going to 300mbit, and we are only just getting flyered for potential demand for FTTP.
