Vectra C problems, please help!

Hi there,

I've been having some problems with my Vectra C for a few weeks now and It's becoming quite a headache. I've just replaced the pads as they were very badly worn and needed renewing. Now I hear clunking noises from the rear of the car (driver side rear). This noise is intermittent and can happen when I'm just driving down the road or when I'm going round a corner. We've taken the pads out and checked they are not moving about etc and they seem fine and checked for anything thats loose and can't seem to see anything.

Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?? It's been suggested to see if the trailing arm or anti roll bar needs changing.

depending on the mileage it could be the suspension bush thats worn, how may miles has it done? Mine went on my SRI at around 45k

It's done 57K mate, were you hearing similar noises?

yep, fairly sure itll be a worn bush, anti roll bar or the likes, any independant garage should be able to sort you, or if your handy enough you may be able to identify it youself. A handy forum for veccy c drivers is http://www.vectra-c.com/

This bush, where is it located? Can you be a bit more specific?

im fairly sure on the rear ARB where it bolts to the chassis goes through a plastic bushing of some description, im no mechanic, my dad is so will ask him in the morning if nobody else has got any further information on it, or ask the other forums
