I have got a hire car for a work trip I need to take, just wondering what they are like to drive? It is a 1.8 & on a 57 plate. Not able to drive it until Sunday due to insurance so it will be sat on my drive for the next day & a bit but no matter what any one says (good or bad) it is bound to be an improvement over my 10 year old 1.3 fiesta :p

Who is insuring it? Your work (i.e. own insurance) or insurance with the hire company. If it is insured by the company and you read the small print you might find you should be able to drive it.

Vectra's are ok... very roomy and although the 1.8 isn't going to win any races it should be a nice drive on the motorway.

A 10 year old 1.3 Fiesta has a reason to be a bad car. After all...it's a 10 year old 1.3 Fiesta :) A Vectra has no reason at all to be quite as bad as it is, which is my major problem with the damned things.

It'll cruise just fine on a motorway as Pyscho_Si says....just don't expect any kind of competence in other situations.

Company I believe but I don't have a copy of the insurance details annoyingly. Think I will give the 'emergency' number a call to find out actually. Will at least be nice to have some space in a car & an engine that while not winning any awards isn't one of the worse ever made :p

Bit of an rubbish thing about the condition of the car on return which includes stone chips which is hardly something you can avoid, if it is gonna happen it is gonna happen.

Aye Endura engine though...shocking :D
