Hey all, I'm planning to get a Vega 56 but im not sure if my 600M will be good enough. Its from 2013 so it's probably due a replacement anyway.

What would you suggest buying to replace it with? I have no budget in mind and will be happy to purchase anything sensible. Also I only ever have one GPU at a time so don't need anything too crazy.

It'll probably be fine. What spec is the rest of your system?

For some kind of reference, I'm running an i7 at 5GHz with a 1080 Ti on an EVGA 650 G3. Power draw measured at the wall is around 360-380 watts when gaming. I'd imagine the Vega 56 uses less power than a 1080 Ti.

On a single GPU system it will be fine, but you're right to consider replacing it in the future if you're concerned that it may not hold up over time.

At the moment, one of the best modular 650W PSUs is the Seasonic Focus Gold:

It's cheaper than the excellent EVGA G3 650W and both the 550W and 750W units get a very good write up from Jonnyguru:

Given that My 56 is coming tomorrow I'll see how it runs first then.. but I think I will replace my PSU sooner rather than later anyway as I am doing a full system overhaul within 6 or so months and I'd rather not trust new and expensive hardware to an older entry lvl PSU.

If you're planning on doing a full overhaul soon, then definitely upgrade the PSU. There's no point risking brand new hardware with an older entry-level PSU. You might as well upgarde it at the same time.

There's difference in that EVGA is quality PSU, while Corsair CX is cheap PSU...
Not even using "best" of Chinese capacitors, but CapXons.

Really lovely that primary side "bulk" capacitor. Very undersized 270uF badly failing hold up time.

So such cheap PSU holds time and use way worser and originally quite good ripple readings might now be more than little different at higher loads.
