Hello all, I'm looking at using some of my Mlife rewards and British Airways vouchers and go to Vegas in October 2021 with my girlfriend. Providing all this covid malarkey has died down.

I'm thinking :

4 nights in Vegas
6 nights out of Vegas, somewhere scenic ( any ideas)
4 nights in Vegas

The hotels have to be the following.

The Bellagio
MGM Grand
Manderlay Bay
New York New York.

I want to stay in 2 separate hotels for each of the 4 days. I was thinking The Bellagio and Manderlay Bay. Would you say these are the best out of the list? How would you rate them? Finally for the 6 days when we are not in vegas I was thinking of hiring a car and driving to sequoia national park and then on to Yosemite. Is this doable google says it takes 6 hours from Vegas to sequoia and then about 3 hours onwards to Yosemite. Does anyone know any nice places to stay at either?

Thanks in advance

I was supposed to go in september, have a look at the app called 'Turo' its basically an app where people hire out their own cars, so you end up with Vettes and cameros etc. . at a decent price.

I've only stayed in the Wynn (been 3 separate occasions now) but can highly recommend it, also would you like to stay at different ends of the strip, the Wynn is quite far down the strip opposite end to Mandalay Bay although when we went in Feb this year there was a couple of new hotels being built past Circus Circus (between the Wynn and the Stratosphere) so they may also be finished now.

If you want to stay in the middle of the strip then Bellagio is probably the one.

Bellagio is a step above any of the other hotels you have listed there. Its my favourite hotel so wholly recommended, also has an amazing breakfast buffet thats worth getting up early for. I've stayed in the other 3, Manderlay Bay is by far the best of them, but location wise its right at the bottom of the strip so not the best if your planning on heading more towards downtown those days.

I've not yet done the national parks so can't comment on that aspect really. From what I've been told you might struggle to get accommodation in Yosemite as its usually booked up a year in advance, although October heading towards end of season. Getting back to Vegas from Yosemite could be challenging depending on how late in October you're going and whether the Tioga pass is still open, you'll probably have to take the long way back via Fresno.

Mandalay bay has a tram but it's literally at the bottom miles away from all the action.

However it's like the biggest hotel there has the best pool.

Bellagio is probably the best overall from those 4. I'd definitely stay there. 4 nights is plenty. 6 outside of Vegas I'd say stay away from places with huge homeless rates. Vegas is one of them so you don't want to go elsewhere where your literally stepping over them constantly.

Personally I'd stay 4 nights at the bellagio more chance of a room upgrade the longer you stay.

I wouldn't do 8 days in Vegas.

Bellagio was basically their flagship property before CityCentre was developed and before that it was the Mirage (which you haven't listed).

You don't have Aria & Vdara listed there though - have you got some specific room deals to use or something?

*Best* depends on budget... like if budget wasn't a concern then why not go all out with the Mansion at the MGM :D

I guess if you're doing two then Bellagio is probs in the best location, Mandalay Bay is the furthest out but has a nice pool - perhaps an option for the second 4 days if you see everything you want in the first 4 days?

Drive down to flagstaff avoid the big crowds take your choice on national parks in that area gorgeous, or take a overnight bag, pay £80 and grab a flight to LA and stay in Santa Monica.

The only reason to go to vegas is to get married though, i am romantic like that :)

Ah OK, I read that as I have been to are the following :D

Not a great list tbh. Bellagio is next to Wynn complex so that's not bad but it's getting on a bit IMO. Of all of those I'd possibly choose Mandalay Bay. Rooms are a bit more contemporary than Bellagio, which would be my 2nd choice. MGM is a dive and New York New York isn't much better!

why two separate hotels? seems a pain to move about after just 2 days...I'd just stay in the Bellagio for the duration, its the best out of the bunch.

What are you planning on doing (apart from gambling)?

I'm assuming its 4 days in one hotel, 6 days out of vegas, 4 days in another hotel.

Yeah that's how I read it, the problem with Mandalay Bay it's it just level with the Welcome to Vegas sign and overlooks McCarran airport so it's only just in Vegas at the very southern tip of the Strip, MGM is just tired, so is New York New York but the Bellagio (I haven't stayed in any of these though so the rooms may differ) is nice when walking through so hopefully that carries over to the rooms but it's where I would stay if it has to be one of those.

So a little more information. Me and my girlfriend currently have Myvegas / Mlife Rewards. We have around 650,000 between us. These can only be used Sunday - Thursday.

The hotel rewards are constantly changing so I will be waiting to until the hotel I want comes up and then booking it. For example last week all of the list of hotels below were available and this week its Borgata , MGM Grand and The Mirage. The other rule is there needs to be at least a 5 day gap between using a free room reward hence why we want to leave vegas and do some exploring and then getting our next 4 days for free.

The current cost of hotel in points are :

The Bellagio for 4 nights = 400,000 points
Manderlay Bay 4 nights = 220,000 points
MGM Grand 4 nights = 190,0000 points
New York New York 4 nights = 120,000 points

Other options are :

The Mirage 4 nights = 200,000 points
Aria 4 nights = 400,000 points

We would only have enough points to do the Bellagio for the 4 nights and then a "lesser" hotel for the last 4 nights. The manderlay Bay looked good to me as the pool looks nice and we wouldn't mind a few days just chilling after doing all the touristy stuff. I did wonder if the other hotels were good enough and then that way i could use the rest of my rewards on things like free shows and food but if the Bellagio is head and shoulders above the rest i would prefer to stay there.
