Vegas dualcore patch ?

I've heard that Rainbow 6 Vegas on the PC runs very slow & even on a rig that scores 8k in 3dmk06, the game delivers min 14fps / average 25fps at 1280 max settings or even all settings turned off don't improve things much. That means a G80 would give min 30fps / average 50fps ??? (which is still very stuttery unless you play with a joypad).

Although booting up on 1 core gives an extra 5fps.... WTF  Whats the point in going quad-core lol.

Anyone know if there’s going to be a dualcore patch, otherwise I won't bother getting this game as it would be unplayable on my dualcore/sli rig.

If they're going to port games over from the 360 you'd think they’d retain 64bit & multi-threading lol. Although I think this game goes a little faster (+3fps) with 2 graphics cards woo hoo

Its because the game is console ported its just really lazy from Ubisoft and totally annoying because its spoils it for PC gamers.

Its a superb game i completed the Singleplayer on the 360 ands a dam shame that there performance problems on PC version. :(

Completely unrelated note: Juno lol at your sig, thing is, MS do make keyboards, and they are the best in the world :P

Wow I am quite glad I got this on the 360 now. (I was debating looking at it on the pc due to the game being cheaper).

Does anyone know if a demo will be released / has been released so I could test it out on my pc. (only run a 7600GT so I am not holding my breath).

Ye 360 version has it bugs but at least its playable and no framerate issues unlike reports i hear from PC version.

They so lazy i mean if people are getting problems on 8800GTX then other people dont stand much chance. :/

ok, ive seen it running on a mid spec single core PC and it runs sweet, full detail HDR highest res, even with scenery exploding and tons of enemies shooting . So for all you turbo charged PC whores its gonna run a lot better, ahh good news,,,,
Its also been upped in the difficulty stakes which im glad as console versions are always a lot easier

SC DA was an awful straight port over from console, but this was actually re-coded and not just a simple disastrous port , w00hoo!

Id say the xbox360 version has a better overall 'polished' look than the PC but at 1600*1200 on a top spec PC that may change ..

I was going to cancel my R6V order especially after double agent but from what ive seen, its great and look forward to thur/fri when it arrives

many of the MP maps on the 360 version look like they had there texture rez severly reduced(except the maps used in the coop story mode), is it the same on the PC MP maps?

I hooked up a 360 & a PC to a 19" LCD running COD2 & in the same place on a multiplayer map the 360 textures appeared to be at a lower resolution and were much blockier than the PC at 2x AA (I thought the 360 had AA in every game). Though with only 512 mb memory for the game & textures, what do you expect?

Don't get me wrong, I think the 360 is good for what it is as some games are great on a big TV with a joypad, but hey thats how I have to play SCDA to get playable fps lol.

The textures in MP do take a hit but I would imagine this was done by the developers to ensure a smooth framerate with 16 players in at once.

Online the textures arn't too bad unless you really get up close (probably the same on the pc version) but on splitscreen it looks like a xbox (1) game.

BUT it still plays the same which is important to me.

I've seen the PC version on my mates C2D 6300, x1800 card, 1gb ram, 1280 res with high graphics settings and it runs pretty smoothly tbh. The only thing i could see that was bad were the graphics glitching, but thats probably down to crappy ATi drivers!

The one thing that made me laugh was my mates e6300 doesn't meet the recommended requirements for CPU, but im guessing that's because the processor hasn't be detected correctly :p

Otherwise this game runs well and plays well, (on a high end pc). I'm yet to see what the mplayer is like.

runs terribly on my rig :(

at 1600x1200 all options off or very low, i get 20-30fps. Gets even slower when the bullets fly.

thats on a fx60 3ghz, 1900xt crossfire, 2gb ram

Framerates on my dual core 6700 and x1950xtx are fine at 1600 by 1200 everything on max.

they sucked with cat 6.10 but as soon as I had 6.11 in it rocks, Got to love it when pre orders come early

Looks like the game runs great on some peoples but not others, maybe more details such as drivers, cpu, ram etc would help figure this out or it could be some peoples perception of what is smooth, is different.
Maybe running fraps would help as 20-30fps is not good in my opinion.
