Vehicle reg check?

Is there some website that i can enter the reg of a UK vehicle and get the number of owners and what the car is registered as. I could swear they did this on the rac site?

they still do, rac status checks?

EDIT, another good way is to go on ebay, wanting to sell a car, just type in your reg and ebay brings up loads of details

You have to pay for that unfortunatly.
I could swear that the rac had a search option that would bring up basic information about car regs?
