Recently upgraded my raid array to 4 150GB velociraptors, here are the results:-

I have never quite understood why RAID0 speeds on SATA II can be 400MB/s+ like you have achieved yet SSDs seem to max out SATA II at around 285MB/s?

Because of this SATA III is required to get the maximum out of the fastest SSDs e.g. C300?
 
Are you able to share some real world scenarios such as boot time decreases, game & app load times?

Have been toying with the idea to raid0 a more modest pair of F4s 320GB to see whether that would improve the above scenarios.
 
levels and apps load very quickly, I will have to time the boot but atm my gaming rig is U/S due to failing psu fan (currently rma/d) so i will post that when the pc is up and running again. It is definitely faster than my old 2 disk raid 0 array.
