Ventrilo Server!

Unsure of where to put, for aoc clan need a 100 max ventrilo server does anybody know without sending me to google an extremely cheap option. thanks in advance.

I actually have a TS and a Vent server running on my 2nd PC which are backups for my clan, doesn't effect my net much or break when in use...but I only have a max of about 20 people on mine.

Ventrilo is limited to a maximum of 8 persons unless an official ventrilo server re-seller iirc.

Mine doesn't seem to be fussed with me changing the setting to 32 players.

Not had many on Vent though as after all, it's a backup/test for the clan.

you can change it to 32 but does yours really allow more than 8 on at a time?

Hm, I changed mine to 32 as well iirc, but 8 is all that gets on.

I've applied to host a couple of 1000 man servers but was wondering if their server software was really hack proof, from what i've read and enquired its pretty good

As I said, I don't know, not had many on as it was more to see if the clan wanted to get our game server providers to change our TS server to a Vent one...so everyone is lazy and just uses the TS despite saying they want to try Vent.

I doubt the editing of the file does work, there are bound to be some other forms of restrictions placed on the software etc.

A lot of GSPs use ventrilo resellers so they don't have to get the license. Im sure it must be hard to get past the restrictions otherwise there would be a lot more providers.
