vertex 2e, Dead after 2 weeks.

I ordered an 120gb Vertex 2e, last night I put it to sleep and woke up to it hanging at the bios screen.
It is not detected by the motherboard in bios and neither in Windows, it still has a green light on though.

Does anyone know if I RMA it, will it come back with the data erased if they fix it or will I just get a new one regardless if they fix it or not. The reason being is that I would be glad to my firefox profile back, ( should have used syncing instead of copying it through installs to be honest).
It's not the end of the world but it is a bit of hassle that I would love to avoid.

I am also wondering if I send it off tommorow, when I would get it back. Living on a mechanical hard drive after having an ssd is hell.

If it's faulty they're more likely to replace than repair so you won't get any of your data back.

Try changing SATA ports? SATA cable? Sounds like its dead like, but its worth a go. Also let all the power drain out of the drive, 20mins or so completely off at wall. Sometimes a Firmware flash on these drives would cause it not to be viewable in the BIOS afterwards for a short time.
