Vertex 3 - SCSI drive???

Hi Guys,

Confused my Vertex 3 use to run absolutely fine...but it started to get sluggish, so i reformated windows and updated the firmware to 2.22 now though my drive shows as a SCSI drive? and i only get about 270mb read speeds!!!

Can someone help me please

Check BIOS and see if it's in IDE or AHCI mode, I dunno if that has anything to do with it showing up as a SCSI drive through, sounds like a driver (or even a firmware) issue to me.

Ok i have got that issue sorted, BIOS shows ACHI and i am still not achieveing the performance i once was !!

Only getting 260mb read WTF!! i updated firmware could this be the reason ?

What program used to test this? ATTO is the only one that'll show high R/W speeds with the sandforce controllers.

ATTO is only showing write speeds off around 160mb and 250mb read

i updated the firmware today and only then has it dropped from what i can tell.

I have reinstalled windows...and changed sata3 lead to handle the higher throughput.

No such thing as a SATA 3 lead tbh, any decent SATA cable will do Sata 3.

sounds like its running at sata 2 speeds.
as justintime says what mobo?

I got it fixed guys, i used OCZ linux update and i stupidly clicked a button which turned the drive drom sata3 to sata2

well at least its fixed now woo
