I have just bought 3 30gb vertex ssd's and are all at the newest firmware, just wondering how to raid them and how to align them properly, any help would be appreciated, thanks

Faceplant should be able to direct you to the right threads on the OCZ forums, he's running that exact setup iirc.

Hi there!

Firstly I assume you'll be setting them up in RAID 0 and using your mobo's onboard RAID controller for this? Post back with what your mobo is and if needed we can be more specific to your hardware, but here is a link to a guide I did for setting up RAID 0 on the Intel ICH10R controller which is pretty common to most recent mobo's.

Alignment should be handled fine by Vista or Win7 automatically. If you are dead set on doing a manual alignment then follow the instructions here.

Then finally - load your OS (very quickly...:D) sit back and enjoy!

ok i have just used ctrl + i to raid my 3 vertex's and then went onto recovery on windows disc and aligned to 128 now i am going to install vista on them? correct?

yeah, that sounds about right. vista stands a good chance of asking for drivers to install with, you'll need these on cd / floppy /usb stick etc

Yeah nice! I was talking about getting to a working desktop on mine!

They are damn fast aren't they. Most people are very sceptical about the speed and general feel of MS's famously speedy Vista  until they try one, or better yet 3 SSD's, but as said by Anandtech they are simply the single best upgrade you can do to a rig at the moment.

Post up some benchmarks when you've time.:)
