Hello all, wondering if anyone can help.

Just turned my PC on and my left monitor has a single full line of dead pixels running from top to bottom about one third of the way in. Pretty sure it wasn't there last night when I turned my computer off but I've just noticed it now. Very annoying.

It's a DELL 2209WA if that makes any difference and my graphics card is a Asus R9 270x. Had a quick Google but can't really see anything. If it needs a new monitor I can probably put up with it instead of forking out on a new one as I'd need to buy two! OCD of monitor's not matching :D.

I don't really know a lot about dead pixels, are they fixable? Any advice appreciated.

It sounds like the panel has developed a fault, either that or part of the electronics driving the panel. If it's the panel which would be my guess it won't be fixable, a professional repairer will just replace the panel.

If you're feeling brave maybe you could open it up and check for any loose wires to the panel, maybe reseat the panel... the panel could have warped slightly and pressure is causing some pixels to stick when cold, heat expansion relieves the pressure?

Not sure I have that in my locker, knowing me I'd probably knack it even more! Think I'll just live with it for the time being. If it gets worse or more appear I'll take it into the store.
