If I were to buy a new hard drive and install my os onto it, is it easy and painfree to delete the software off my existing hard drive ?
I am wondering about fitting a solid state drive for the os, and keeping the current drive for storage, and the os is XP, though that might be updated too.
I am pretty sure I know the answer, but have never done this before..
Cheers all !

Yes: Simply unplug old HD then plug in new HD alone, install OS, plug in old HD & set it as 2nd HD in BIOS then once in Windows you can copy/backup/format/etc it :)

Thank you, you wise and helpful person !
I don't want to risk loosing my existing data in any way, and you make it sound just as easy as I imagined.
