Very Important

cheers for reply, where do i find that?

i bought this earlier its a macbook pro, but really disliking the OS and could do with my vista back on, plus its for a lot of paper work so guessing im better off with windows?

because we got it cheap :)

can someone just please tell me how to get vista on, thanks very much :)

You can wipe the entire thing of OS X if you want. Vista won't touch an HFS+ partition though so you have to delete everything using Disk Utility on the restore disk (or format as say FAT32 - making sure to change the boot type to MBR!). Then it's just like any other PC :)

ive been playing with this all night and only just figured out how to get it to connect to a network, just downloaded boot camp but it wont install i double click it and the picture icon just expands then nothing at all happens

been doing loads of reading to but its a real big shame i haven't got the slightest clue what these computer words are :(

i was just hoping to stick in my vista disk and let it install :( bad times

also why does it knock my other laptop and my gaming rig offline when i connect this up to wireless network?

thanks

Whats the MBP spec? I'll swap it you for my HP DV5 Laptop, 2.26ghz Core 2 Duo, 4Gb Ram, Blu-ray drive, 250Gb HDD....Windows Vista :p

Cheap or not why in the name of the Goddess would you buy a MacBook Pro and then want to just use Vista on it? At least use Windows 7 :p

You need to give OS X more of a chance than that especially if you have been a PC user for a long time.

That's the disk image mounting (like a DVD) - Go to Finder (like Windows Explorer) and click on the boot camp disk image and then run the boot camp setup from there.

As for your Wireless network I don't have much of an clue but I doubt it has anything to do with the MacBook Pro.

Oh and bad times are MacBook Pro + Vista but I hope you get it sorted.

Do you have problems in Vista (using it that is)?

Don't take this the wrong way but my wife uses OS X and she doesn't know one end of a computer from the other! :D :p

Seriously go on the Internet an look at so beginners guides to OS X. Give it a try before you right it off...

no i love vista ultimate :) always used windows since day 1, reason why i feel so lost on mac haha

hardware i know a lot about.....software im useless :p

ive put it away for time being, will have to have another look at it tomorrow after work, cheers for all info dude :)

Surely when you get something new half the fun is learning about it?

Can't you just spend an evening leaning about OSX? I've used Windows since 3.11, when i first got my Macbook, OSX did feel a little alien but a couple of hours later i got used to it as will you.

If you really put your mind to it you could probably figure out OSX quicker than doing a reasonable Vista install.

Owning a Mac is about as much as OSX as it is about the Mac itself.

I agree. Apple computers and OS X go hand in hand.

I've used Windows since 3.0 and Apple's OS since System 6 on a Macintosh Classic. Going from OS 9 to OS X was a shock but OS X work better for me than any Windows OS and I'm not saying that as a blind Fanboi as I am writing this from Safari running on Windows 7 lol.

If you can work windows and are capible of making a cup of tea you sure as hell can use OSX lol.

As I have already said my wife doesn't do computer and she uses OS X like it was second nature yet cannot get on with Windows (she has to use XP at work!)
