Very impressed with an Impreza and managed decent MPG from the Mustang!!

Get over it mate - Most american cars DONT handle as well as their european counterparts - Gibbo knows Im pulling his leg - and he dont need you to stand up for him - he's a big boy now!

Much as I'd love to follow up my previous post with a well-reasoned argument as to why your first post wasn't desperately intelligent, Gibbo has saved me the effort. Go read some proper tests of the Saleen cars, you'll see that they pretty much all agree with his experience.

As for European cars and handling - Vauxhall Vectra anyone? Ah, but not all European cars handle like that.....just as not all American cars handle like the QE2 ;)

But Im liking your daily drive a lot! You could get that to be the ultimate low rider with a set of hydrolics and some chrome spoke wheels.

Not my daily driver yet, as my Seicento does the job much better in city traffic. Will drive it more once I'm out of Coventry. As for the low-rider plan, I could....or I could go through with a plan I'm slowly refining while I save up the money and build a hot small-block engine for it (with none of the emissions control crapola), sort out the underpinnings and leave the old girl looking stock and ratty. Much better idea, and it'll surprise the BMW/Audi/Merc brigade when their Wehrmacht staff car gets itself sucked in through my inlet manifold.

You still have the 3000GT? Why?

The new Corvette Z06 is one amazing car. In the past Ive not been American Cars' biggest fan, but the current crop as well as the upcoming models are very appealing.

Hi there

Owning the 3000GT still is partially my own fault for not really trying too hard to sell it, plus I've still been using it. Though now I feel it must go and as such am trying to shift it via Pistonheads. Have dropped the price down towards the 8k area which I feel is too cheap for the car but it needs a new caring home. Been offered lots of part exchanges but nothing thats really got my attention plus the cash from the 3000GT would pay for some new toys for the Mustang and the remainder I can just bank. :)

Yep the Corvette Z06 is amazing, its Americas best handling car yet and if not one of the best handling cars, especially for its size. Still I suspect the Type 25 Impreza would beat it on most tracks except for ones with very long straights. :)

Blimey Gibbo mate, that was war and peace! Did I touch a nerve?

Like Ive said to you before, I know your car handles........it handles VERY well indeed. But your car like you said before above, is a rare site in the uk.

Fast around a track doesnt really show the same thing as fast on the roads. The RS focus is a good case, if you have ever driven one the first thing you notice when you floor it is the enormous amount of torque steer. Not really something I could live with daily..

So take a chill pill mate Andrew!! ;)

Hi there

I am chilled Curly ! :)

If you do get the Scooby remember to get down to PowerStation for a tune up. :D

Yeah, cheers for that link mate.

Never owned a Jap car in my life (and I must be nearly at 30+ cars OWNED by me since I was 17 including company rides and weekend toys), so I guess its about time.

Remember, this will be the daily drive - the Cobra is still penned in for next year.......427cubic inches of pure american muscle in a car that handles like a wet fish!! lol...
