Very Late Parpage to JoeyJoJo and a 805 pointer WU!

805d which is rubbish at about 300 ppd :(

You do know that the Pentium D are EMT64 complient (I know they are not a true 64bit chip, just can access 64Bit code) But it might work (has anyone tried) - main problem is the tight deadlines might make it unworkable even if it will actually crunch.

Stan says it doesn't work :( Only AMD64 or Core 2 confirmed so far.

Stomp him good next time! I should have him in 24 hours :)
Yep :D

Got 2 machines at the moment. The opty is crunching smp wu's, I've had a long run of 1760 pointers but got a rubbish ~500 pointer this morn'. Also got an 805d which is rubbish at about 300 ppd :(

Right that's it I'm gonna get smp running on my dual core to fight back.... :o :D

You can see who's on their way up from the depths using SMP by looking at the hourly stats on EOC for people dumping 1760 points every 36 hours or so - at least myself, JJJ, dangerousdave & jaric. Have a look at DD's & jaric's overall stats - they're averaging over 500 points per WU!

Gotta love it :D

I must say that 8 core xeon machine is looking so tempting right now  :( :D

I've spent a good bit of time (and more money than it was worth) trying to get my 820 to run 64-bit Ubuntu and it won't. VMware says 64-bit operation is not supported when I select 64-bit Ubuntu as the client. It would be very tight on deadlines anyway as my 6400 takes about 33 hours for a 2605 WU so the 820 would probably take around 44 hours with a final deadline of 48 hours.

Snap - what's your e6400 clocked too - will probably have mine folding via smp this weekend. And is your ram 1:1 or higher?
Not clocked at all. It's such a step up from my previous machine (dual PIII/1133) that I don't need to clock it at the moment and can wait until it needs a mid-life performance boost.

This is an overclockers forum btw :p shamefull but totally understandable :D
But that's good news for me as my home rig might not be on twenty four seven now it's in the bedroom. Was conserned I might not have hit the deadlines with only 15-17h a day.

But if you can do one every 33h, I should be well below 30 :D

I prefer to think of it as a forum for customers of OcUK. ;)
I'm certainly one of those and it's nearly seven years since my first order from OcUK.

BTW which bit of west London? We were in the Northfields corner of W5 until we retired to the country five months ago.

Northfields, not a million miles from me (not that you'd know looking at a tube map) Ruislip - end of the central line my current location. Nothing like living in a county that does really exist ;) (middlesex)
