Yeah I could do, I might just give it to my nephew, he has no PC of his own and I could also leave the ram under clocked to keep it stable for now. Also is would help justify new stuff lol
One cause of this (specifically with web browsers) is hardware accelerated 2D graphics. Its been a bug in Firefox for a very long time. (You can toggle it in the browser settings).
With it enabled I see artifacts.
With it disabled I see no artifacts but there is tearing/lag when i scroll web pages.
It manifests itself as a stretched checkerboard type effect and can vanish when I scroll up/down.
I only noticed it a few years ago when stopped using IE(not affected) and swapped to Firefox.
Yeah I blamed firefox at first but I've switched to chrome and that gives me the artefacts and a whole nest of other problems like ssl auth on some webpages. Also my CPU being detected as completely the wrong one seems to point to a hardware fault somewhere.
