Ok, so here's the deal.
Trying to work out what's wrong with a 64GB USB.
Just a generic drive - no idea of make nor model.
Basically what happens is that whenever you try and copy the data onto the drive, it doesn't seem to set up the paths or something correctly, and files don't seem to copy correctly, despite folders etc... being put in, and space saying it's correct.
I started off by formatting the drive.
Then I copied over 8GB of files
I ended up with this as the properties
This is a bit odd to start with, as it was only about 8GB of files to start with.
It starts to become weirder once you delve into files. The main folder's properties is as follows (should be about 8GB):
Within the folders themselves, it seems to set up some of the directory quite well, but not across the board.
So some might be
G:/X/y/z/filename.extension
Therefore, this file has copied fine, and this will tend to be at the start of the copy order as such.
But as you go through more and more, following on from the above example, the folders would pitter out to be:
G:/X/Y/Z
and even further down
G:/X
I've ran HD Tune on the thing, and it's found no bad sectors whatsoever.
As I said, I formatted with no issue, about to try a Seatools Long Generic Test on it as well...
EDIT:
Ok, doing a scan on the USB, Long Generic is currently at 71 errors... and rising... I think I may have found the issue....
