Hey. Ok basically i bought an Overclockers Bundle deal thing.
I've installed it all correctly and wired it up. Everything seems to work except my HDD.
It says Loading windows and the win7 loading thing come up and it restarts.
So then i put the HDD back into my old pc and everything runs fine. So then i test a windows XP HDD in there (a different one) and it works fine. I tried putting my win7 into my new mobo and still the same dont load.

Need help guys :(

You may need to try a startup repair, was the operating system setup in ACHI mode in your old computer.

Was the original machine a pre-built one and does your Win 7 disc come in a cardboard sleeve or plastic case.

Pre built and sleeve. Its 32bit win7 and 32bit xp. Im planning to buy 64bit win7 soon. Is it worth it? I've got 4gb RAM.

Just a thought but did you instal the SATA drivers when asked, normally before you instal the OS???
The OS was already on there from my old PC.

You do realise your 32-bit Windows 7 key will work just fine with a 64-bit install?

No need to buy it again.
Ah awesome i didn't know :D Made me happy now :D

Have you tried your hdd in a different sata port on the motherboard. might be a silly question, but you never know.

Yeah i did try :/

What Sata type is your new HDD? And does your new mobo support Sata 2 and Sata 3?

I haven't got a new HDD.
It's my normal one which i use with my old pc now that i have upgraded. I've put the HDD into my New Pc to use.
I had a old spare and that works.

My mobo is:
Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2 (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard

In that case i would try the sata settings in the bios and see what the current Sata mode is set to. If it's in IDE mode then change to AHCI mode and see if that helps, if it's in AHCI mode by default then just set it back to IDE mode. If that fails you'll want to download the Southbridge Motherboard drivers and any other Sata drivers for your board and put them on a USB stick to run them off in DOS mode to install before plugging in your hard drive again.

If that fails then it's time to backup and reinstall i'm afraid...

Although weirdly windows 7 should have built in drivers and be more than capable of installing new motherboard drivers for the swap over but i suppose if you can't even get into windows then it won't be able to do it.

If you look at the back of the HDD next to the Sata power and Sata data plug theres another set of pins. Is there anything plugged into those pins like a little plastic connector?
