I just visited wikipedia a few minutes ago to find i was logged in as someone but i don't even have an account so what could cause it?

Im hoping it was just an error on wiki's part, my pc and router security is fine i think but should i be concerned?

This is my home computer and its only me using the net, i don't even see how it happened but i did log out before thinking, its very strange and has me a bit worried now, i got two firewalls a hardware and software one plus virus and spyware scanners, i just don't get how this could happen unless its some error elsewhere?

Try window washer, it will remove all cookies on start-up or close down, or you can save those which you wish to keep.

I have ad-aware pro as spyware but that won't remove cookies but does block malicious or tracking ones. I don't think that applies to the site you visited. Before using Window Washer I would often go back to a site and it would say welcome back Belly! Perhaps this might be of help to you?

This happened to me on youtube. Might be something weird to do with IP's.

At last someone who actually read and understood my post, not sure where all the cookie talk come from as all i was concerned with was how i could magically get logged in as someone when it was just me using my connection and wiki on and off for hours before it happened.

I don't use wireless, i got (hopefully) good security and im a little paranoid about it too, im no computer noob i know enough to know this is just very strange, i think/hope it was just an error on wikipedias part but how can i be sure?

It's most likely something server-side and nothing to worry about. Perhaps one of the servers got their sessions tangled up or a database had a brain fart.

I doubt it's a significant security threat for either Wikipedia/YouTube or you :)
