Vettel to Ferrari in 2014?

What I don't understand is if there is any truth to the rumour about vettel why LDM is denying it. Alonso will know, they won't hide that from him and massa knows what he is. LDM said recently he doesn't want two no1's.

Surely if they were on the verge of taking red bulls prize possession they would be happy right now to let the team know.

Alonso has always said that he wants to win 3 WDC then he's probably done. So Vettle could very easily be the number 1 at Ferrari. Fernando might be happy to take it easy after his 3rd WDC, or despite his contract he might take a sabbatical.

If Vettle signs it might activate certain clauses in Alonso's contract, meaning he can go off and do whatever he wants.

There is just so much that we don't know.

I'm just curious on what you guys are using to scale who the better driver is?

Complex mathematical equations that boil down to "X sucks/rules because I say so"? Metric ****-tonne of statistics that strip out all real meaning and reduce everything to numbers? Random number generator? Take your pick.

I rather like Vettel. I intensely dislike his finger but I rather like him as a driver, as a competitor and as a scholar of F1. Sure, he has his moaning moments but then so do all drivers.

I believe he's been quoted as saying that most F1 greats have driven for Ferrari. Given his quite simply explosive rise in the sport, if he's truly focussed on writing his place in F1 history as one of the true greats, he will need to accomplish a good deal more. Moving to a prestige team, such as Ferrari, and winning there will be a further step towards that goal, and a silencer of those critics who will otherwise always be there to say that it was the car rather than the driver.

For me, Vettel has the capability to be a modern day complete F1 driver. He can take understanding of the technology to a different level. I'm talking about not just managing tyres and race strategy that goes way outside the race, but to someone that can view the whole Championship as the journey rather than race by race. I'm a JB fan, btw, but I really do admire what Vettel's achieved. He's undoubtedly had the faster car on many occasions in the past three years. When he does he's absolutely clinical at closing out the win or the points - far superior to anyone else. When he doesn't, yes - he moans like any other driver, but he's maturing and now brings home more points than before. That's more than great driving on the track, it is incredible organisational awareness, the ability to detach thinking from his immediate situation.

He's clearly supported by a great team at RBR - the question would be whether he can bring sufficient learning to a new team and galvanise them. Do that, especially without Newey, and I'll take my hat off to him.

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has now also dismissed suggestions that they could lose the two-time World Champion to Ferrari in a year's time.

"Sebastian Vettel, without a shadow of doubt, will be part of the Red Bull Racing team in 2014," he told BBC Sport.

RBR make a rubbish driver like Vettel look half decent. Would be mad to leave them tbh.

Fixed that for you. :D

Red Bull's fortunes will go into decline the second the FIA put in a rule that says "No blown diffusers, no excuses". Right now they're relying totally on Newey finding a loophole that lets them use his latest trick.

With no plans for the FIA to stop the new coanda blown exhausts for next year, I see no reason why RBR wont totally dominate again next year.

The FIA really are quite pathetic with the way they deal with this sort of thing. They need to stop pandering to the teams.

Or the other teams need to work harder and do a better job to challenge Red Bull rather than crying to the FIA to hamper them?

Their dads said so and as their dads are bigger then they are correct! :)

HAHAHAHAHA

what i figured, was kinda worried that they though each team/car was equal so it was all down to "skill"

I must admit, the cars sounded a bit more like a Skeleton having a **** in a biscuit tin again at Korea, I noticed it big time

Really? The maps that made the engines sound like that have been (sort of) banned. If it's back then it means the teams have found loopholes again.

Bloody FIA.

Could they not move to a principles based regulations system rather than a rule based one? Then all these made up one liners that the media keep making up and then incorrectly interpreting as the rules could actually be the rules.
