OK so I have a 7900GT and a vf700Cu (yet to be fitted) and I can't help wondering if fitting the vf900 would be better?

*Awaits the 'get rid of the 7900' posts* ;)

But please still answer my question.

Ta :)

Its gonna blow man get rid of it now :P happy?! hehe!

Well the vf900cu is actually a better performing cooler! If you google it for reviews you should find comparisons to the older cooler and you will see the 900 cuts most off your temps!

I got a vf 900 for my 7900 extreme on stock it used to run at about 50 and 72 (scorchio) on full load. Fitted it a while back now see idle about 39-42 in this hot weather and about 60 full load. Even when Oc to 580 Mhz and 1.8 G mem in only got to 62 on full load. Glad i got it prob saved my card from melting!! :D

Nothing wrong with the 7900GT, i have a vf900 on mine and overclocked to 640/1900 with no problem (volt modded), even during July. However i am slightly disappointed that there is now a blue-LED version, which would look perfect in my case :(

The VF900 is better, although it seems the design of the 700 keeps the surrounding components (i.e. the memory) cooler than the 900 does.

Aye, I started swearing under my breath when I saw that on OcUK. I bought a standard VF900 quite some time ago, and my case is black and full of blue LEDs, blue LED fans, and blue cold cathode ray tubes. Even my PSU has blue LEDs in it. :(

I share your pain :( even my keyboard and mouse have blue lights in them! I don't see why they couldn't have brought the LED edition out sooner. Im almost temptep to buy one lol

Got any pics of that? Would love to see it.

Got a blue and red theme running in my case...blue fans and PSU, blue SATA EL cable, but the motherboard is surrounded with red LEDs. Sounds crap, but actually looks quite cool (or will, once I've done some cable management).
