vga cooler problem

hi
my 9800xt recently packed up so i had to buy another one and as usual the stock cooling fan is noisy, so i took the arctic cooler off the knackered card to put on the new 9800xt only to find it don`t fit! the chips are in different places and the holes don`t line up with the studs on the vga cooler. maybe its a cheapo made card or something but i wondered if any knows of a cooler that will fit any card without the need to attach it to the card via the screws?
any advice would be greatly appreciated

If i remember, the pros and xt's had different layouts and some pre OCed XT's where also different. Might be worth googling for this or posting on the GFX card section
