VGA Splitter cause damage?

Hi everyone - quick question, is it possible that using a VGA splitter from a laptop to 2x HDTVs can cause damage to the laptops graphics card?

I highly doubt it. If splitters caused major damage they wouldn't be sold.

Also the signal would be travelling AWAY from the graphics card so I can't see how it could cause any damage.

It wouldn't cause any damage what so ever, unless you happened to try yanking on the cable or something, pulling said laptop off the desk.

I thought it wouldnt cause any damage, just some guy in a PC shop said he does not recommend them and refuses to stock them!

Ah, the infamous "guy in a PC shop". The one that usually knows less about what he's selling than he does quantum mechanics, and he knows nothing about quantum mechanics...

we use them at my work place just for some demo's, never had any issue ever with a huge number of different towers/laptops running as the main.
