VGA Vs HDMI

right well i have got a new mobo, new gfx and the spdif audio lead and i can now get audio through the hdmi socket :D
still cant go up to the full res but is still at a res the computer is saying is 1080 so im happy and looks a lot clearer now than through the vga socket :D so in answer to my original question, in my personal opinion, if the tv is not capable of running at its native res through VGA then HDMI is the only way to go to get a clear picture, but if it will do the native res through VGA then there probably wont be any difference.

Nice to hear you got the cables and got some picture quality improvements :)

I had a think about how to solve your problem, and I realised it could be your TV itself. Do you have any zoom/scaling options on the TV (may need to consult the manual) that will allow you to change how much of the screen is used?

not sure to be honest, the ps3 and sky hd auto fill the screen fine but the pc is being more of a pain so not entirely sure why.

ok now im really confused, if i set games to the full 1080p then they fit the screen fine (will fifa 2010 and nfs:shift did aint tried any others) but the desktop is nowhere near.
