I need advice on an old problem

My zotac 980ti vibrates at a certain rmp

If i pinch the card together close to the fan/sli port it stops.

How can i fix it? Should i just put a mini clamp on it?

It's taken me ages to work out what it is, then i moved it onto a new system and its doing it lol

reinstall the cooler. If that doesn't work, backplate and rubber band sounds like a semi-permanent solution to the noise. If you were that bothered you can record it and notify the manufacturer to arrange an RMA. Putting a Powercolor powerjack near the PCI end will probably work too.

What's a power jack?

Not too sure if i feel comfortable about taking the gpu apart, i can build a pc but a gpu is scary :(

Damn it, i doubt my child would let me get away with that hah.

I want something colourful as well, going to be such an eye sore

edit, also lifting the card up at the end doesnt stop the vibrating. Only way to stop it is to pinch near the sli port

Strategically placed fishing line if you have a window. It's how I supported this monstrosity and got shot of all HDD vibration from these mechanical drives (An issue that really should have been addressed with case manufacturers by now)

If you set it right you should be able to keep it out of view. Also using some 5lb line rather than the estimated 100lb I used would probably be a better idea.
