Vida Host and Register 1 question

I've read their pages for information but would like to ask actual customers some questions:

1) Is support of a quality standard?

2) I'm transfering a domain name and email to host (either of the above's £99 p/year plans). I like to know if you have found transfering such details easy and trouble free?

3) I've never really transfered details over before but it is somethign I do want to do. What is the general process from transfering domain names etc and email to another host.

4) The £99 p/year plans seem to offer email services too. Would I be able to tranfer over our business' email accounts to these as they are pop3. We only have 7-10 email addresses that all end in the same domain name obviously.

5) Anyone have any bad problems with either of the hosts?

Thank you

I've found Vidahost to be relatively trouble free :)
Transferring the domain caused some problems somewhere along the line (Renewal dates got mixed somewhere), first support response was average- Reported first at lunchtime on a bank-holiday Monday (As soon as I was aware), was fixed first thing on Tuesday. Also got a free renewal for that, so no real gripes.
Never had any uptime problems or any issues other than that, so can't comment further.

Awesome.

I'm just thinking now. I can transfer the domain name to VidaHost or point the nameservers to vida host. I then setup the email accounts within the cpanel of Vidahost and rename them exactly as they already are now e.g [email protected] and all should work?

Register1 have very very good support. Control panel is a bit ugly IMHO but does everything you need to do. I recommend Register1 to my clients.

I wouldn't transfer a domain to my webhost personally - I'd rather keep domains with one company and hosting with another, so I can cut ties with the host if need be and not have to faff around tranferring domains again.
