Video conversion software using i7 HT ?

What software do i use to recompress my home videos quick ?
I have fair amount of 720p footage which takes ungodly amount of gigabytes the way its compressed.

I recently bought a new system with i7 2600k cpu, so preferably need software that can use i7's HT and other video encoding muscle.

Also something easy to use, i'm not starting editing lab here.

Any suggestions ?

Take a look at Handbrake. Don't get rid of your original 720P footage though, dump it off to an external hard drive.

I use AVS4U software.

Once you have activated with a licence key you can download and install all the different types of software you need.

The AVS4U video converter really is good and worth the money alone.

And both of those use QuickSync ?
I have a discrete GPU (GTX480), and so far for some reason can only use CUDA but not QuickSync.
