It just seems i cannot play decent quality video on my pc.. i have a x1950 card (well actually a 9550 card at the moment but the problem still occured with the x1950) *** video quality in windows media player and things like power dvd is very poor.. my screen is of reasonable quality, and i've checked the specs, so the video quality shouldnt be this grainy and poor... when goign into the options of windows meida player the ability to allow hardware decoding is blanked out... any ideas?..

in media player only use overlay mode, dongt enable high quality as it switches to the crappy vmr9 renderer.

for powerdvd, just enable hardware acceleration option and its sorted.

might want to play about with the noise/edge detect settings in ccc avivo settings, although i think powerdvd overrides the settings. auto detect deinterlace and pulldown detection will be good idea to enable too.

hopefully youll notice the difference right away ;)
