Video doorbells, WiFi signal jammers?

I think in a lot of cases it falls into the "security theatre" arena more than actual security.

Round here it seems to be used more for "this person looks dodgy" - and it's a carer wearing their uniform who has clearly got the wrong house.

The Reolink Hub automatically sends a notification if any of my camera's go offline.

The Nest sends it to your phone, but I want to be woken if there is any suspicious activity and a push notification isn't sufficient for that all the time, so have this in addition.

Oh is that the Google Automation scripting? I’ve not played with that yet.

Any good guides out there? Documentation was pretty limited when it was first released.

There is a AI prompt built in, but here is a list of supported commands. https://developers.home.google.com/automations/schema/reference/entity/sht_device/on_off_state

Thanks. Do you have Reolink devices? Wanted to set an automation when my doorbell detects a person at night it turns the porch light on. After my research a while ago it seems like detecting a person or activity wasn’t an available “starter” for automations.

No, I already had the original nest doorbell when it was originally released so continued with their ecosystem.

starters:
- type: device.event.PersonDetection # A person has been detected by the camera.
device: Front Door camera - Front Door
