I'm using videostudio pro, i thought when i render my gfx card would be used, if i check task manager its only using 1% my cpu is 95% i thought my gfx would be used a lot more, is there something i need to turn on in windows? my gfx is Asus Gforce GTX 960.

Its not always beneficial to use the GPU. There is a cost in time by moving the data from the CPU to the GPU for it to be rendered/encoded/whatever. The savings in time made by the GPU rendering the footage maybe outweighed by the time taken to pass and return the data via GPU in the 1st place. Particularly if there is little in the way of effects being applied to the footage prior to being rendered.

This sort of thing happens also in Adobe products. Even in photoshop, not all filter effects are GPU accelerated as its just not worth it. The CPU can do it faster.
