Video editing help

Hi, when i try to upload my video into Adobe Premiere it just freezes - however if i try uploading a shorter clip it will import into premiere.

Is there a piece of software which will let me trim it into 3 parts so it uploads into premiere? Or even better make it all upload into premiere?

I was going to use movie maker but i feel it makes the quality bad.

how big is the file that freezes premiere, it could be loading it (can take a while) - are the processors etc active in task manager.

it is 93mb, all proccessors active..
