video encoder suite

Does anyone know of any professional video encoders etc i can buy, that use dual core effectivly etc ?

I need to be able to convert flv to mpeg, and all the "freeware" ones except SUPER (which wont run, does a cpu illegal instruction) will only do 1mb or so...... and take ages.

I have been using TMPGenc for years, pretty sure the latest version of that will utilize dual core.

Just tried this, .flv not supported.

Have a look at Replay Converter - which can convert .FLV to other formats, like AVI, then use another program to encode the AVI into MPEG1/MPEG2. I don't know of any program which converts a .FLV directly to MPEG2.

EDIT:

I do remember that when I had Replay Converter and WinAVI both installed, I was able to convert/encode a .FLV file into an MPEG2 (and other) file/s, WinAVI must have been using one of the codecs installed by Replay Converter.

I use virtual dub for converting files into mpeg.

Sorenson Squeeze is very good, does pretty much everything including .flv
